An historic complex of co-operative
apartments in Northwest Washington, DC.
We are a diverse, vibrant, multi-generational community. Many of us find that owning at The Westchester offers more than a great apartment. There is a long history of residents coming together to offer social and cultural programs. For example, our majestic Main Lobby is the site of a concert series, with performances by professional musicians. Volunteers operate an extensive lending library, and arrange for the authors among us to present their new works. We offer bi-annual apartment tours (for residents only) that showcase the diversity of living spaces. Our bi-monthly newsletter provides a venue for sharing information about local living. The community holds monthly ‘Happy Hours’ where neighbors can get to know neighbors.
We are also electronically connected, with an internal website that allows neighbors to request a tennis partner, recommend a new restaurant, sell a used piece of furniture, or find a medical professional.
We are self-governing, with an elected Board, providing many opportunities for member-owners to impact governance: by running for Board membership and/or joining standing and ad hoc committees. We welcome you to join us!
